Saint John Mary Baptist Vianney

"I was staying with our friends the Fritches, and had brought a biography of Saint Jean-Marie Vianney, the Cure of Ars, to fill in the times of solitude and prayer. The character revealed himself as much through the reading of his life-story as by a presence which I would describe as burning. As if he were communicating the fever of his fiery soul to me. It is true that the saints pass on to us some of their own charism - the ones they received during their stay on earth - when we spend time with them.

A wink, a confirmation came to reinforce this budding frienship. I had to interrupt my reading for a spiritual interview. I thought I was dreaming, the life-story of the person who had come to ask my advice was before me. I could remember it easily. She was dumbfounded, and so was I. That same evening she was able to say to her fiance: "I am like the Samaritan woman, I have met a man who told me all I have done." This couple are now members of the Community.

Indeed, I received this gift of immediate knowledge for some time. Today this gift is quite widespread, but it was not so at that time
